Blue Monday - Grocery Shopping

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When we go grocery shopping to the wholesale store, we carry our Blue, cloth bags. That's not because we especially care about the environment, but because the warehouse-type store doesn't furnish carry-out bags. The advantage of this type of store is that we can buy in bulk and stock up.
Recently, we went to our local grocery store to buy other items that the big box store doesn't carry. Because the Blue bags were still on the top of our minds and in the back seat of the car, we used them again. Who knows? Thanks to Blue, we might just save a tree or two!
Do you use cloth bags for your grocery shopping?
Happy Blue Monday!
I never seem to be organised enough! Is that more blue light bulbs I spy in your shopping bags? Are they working? Debbie
I don't really use cloth bags but we usually bring a regular bag ( like small gym bag ) when shopping specially if we know we'll buy heavy items.
We use cloth bags - we're dissuaded from using plastic ones here in Europe!
They want to start charging 10p a bag at supermarkets here - but I'd argue that re-using old bags for new food shopping is not a good idea.
I remember using a cloth bag while attending classes in gradschool, while the rich classmates were flashing the Channels and Pradas. Then something funny ensued. Slowly they also began using cloth bags in later weeks :)
Hi Sally, I'm joining Blue Monday today but I'm afraid Blenza is not allowing me to link up. I will appreciate it if you could kindly link me up. Thank you very much.
Oh yes, I always re-use bags or bring a sturdier one when I go shopping. The amount of waste is big as it is and I think that we all should do what we can to help our planet to survive!
Happy Blue Monday!
Since blue is my favorite color, I wouldn't mind shopping with those bags at all!
WE use cloth bever since the city of Toronto imposed a 5 cent fee for plastic bags. That fee has been lifted but most people are just now in the habit of bringing their bags with them.
Sally, thanks for sharing. We usually use an L.L. Bean bag. Not blue but it has a blue handle.
Several large grocers don't provide bags anymore, so we always have a collection of cloth bags in the car. They're sturdy and easier to carry from car to house, too.
I still use the plastic ones. I reuse them in my small trash cans.When it is just one, it does not pay me to shop at wholesale stores.
I like the blue color bags. I do use cloth and canvas bags for my shopping. I have one for grocery shopping and a different one for Walgreens and smaller items. Absolutely, save those trees :)
Love buying in bulk! A very had habit to change is to remind myself to take bags with me when I run out the door to do groceries. Already for years they do not provide plastic bags in grocery stores Holland - they make you buy it!
I would love to use those blue bags, but I never remember them or it would take so many that I don't have enough. I'm horrible.
